The WavPack 4.41 beta3 is now available bringing with it the following features. Keep your eyes peeled for the final version of 4.41.
- Speedup optimizations from the first two betas, plus an other. This includes MMX utilization for encoding 24-bit stereo.
- WavPack now refuses to encode WAV files over 4 GB total or WAV files with over 16 MB non-audio RIFF data.
- WvUnpack (and the library) fixed to properly decode (without crashing) files created with very large RIFF chunks. With the latest WavPack these can no longer be created, but this will allow any that were created mistakenly to be properly restored.
- Added –skip and –until commands to WvUnpack to allow decoding a subset of the entire file, specified in either samples or time (hh:mm:ss.ss). Syntax is identical to FLAC’s.
