Loading ...New Cowon PMP Supports Multiple Lossless Formats
Known for developing solid, feature rich DAP’s and PMP’s Cowon has announced a new PMP that lives up to the Cowon name. As with previous devices the Q5 supports the usual array of audio formats but what is special about the Q5 is that it not only supports Flac but also adds support for Monkley’s Audio commonly known as APE. While the APE format is one of the most popular lossless formats it receives very little hardware supoport in comparision to FLAC and WMA Lossless. I know there will be many interested in the Q5 for this feature alone.
Another anticipated feature is additional wireless support. While this new model does have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the Q5 also adds cellular wireless support. The Q5 is able to connect to HSDPA/EDGE/GPRS networks for an always on connection.
