Loading ...Logitech To Acquire Slim Devices!
Slim Devices, the makers of the ever popular Squeezebox and the more recent Transporter are being acquired by Logitech. Slim Devices pioneered wireless based audio streaming as well as hardware support for FLAC and have fostered a large community around them. Let’s hope that they continue to move in a similar direction with Logitech’s branding behind them. The future does look bright as Logitech has seemed to keep the dialog open with users of it’s Harmony Remote Control products which was also a similar acquisition.
Dialog is going on right now over at the Slim Devices forum between the local community and a few of the Logitech poeple involved in the acquisition in this thread.
Some good news though, based on a post at the Slim Devices forum the Slim Server software will continue to be free!
