Would you like your Ipod to be able to play FLAC or OGG files or new games? This coming Friday, Oct. 6th at the MIT Media Lab the Free Culture Boston and the Computing Culture group will hold the Ipod Liberation Party. Those attending can have RockBox or Ipod Linux installed on there Ipods. In case you aren’t aware of RockBox or Ipod Linux both of these projects are based on Linux and enable you to play a host of new formats like FLAC and OGG as well as adding many new features including the removal of DRM. The party will include DJs using there modified Ipod’s to spin records, I mean play files for your listening enjoyment.
The gathering is also in celebration to mark the end of DefectiveByDesign’s “Week Against DRM.”
